Wordless Wednesday: Birthday Party & A Winner

First things first I need to announce to winner of the Little Reese's Pieces Giveaway!
Congratulations to Nancy S! Shoot me an email and I'll get you in touch with Corrine!

These are the best shots I got from Evie's birthday. I'm still so upset about the pictures of the decor and food! I am NEVER letting anyone touch my camera again. Period.

Since the day we found out we were pregnant we had our nurseries planned: ladybugs for a little girl and vintage airplanes for a little boy. Because of this as soon as we found out that Evie was a girl her daddy began calling her Evie bug. Thus, no one in our family can see lady bugs without thinking about Evie. So it made sense for her first party to do something with Lady Bugs. We decided on a Lady Bug Picnic theme. We had mini sub sandwiches with all the fixins (lettuce, cheese, pickle, onion, tomato, mayo, and two kinds of mustard), wavy lays and onion dip, tortilla chips and rotel dip, Christ Church potato salad, broccoli and cauliflower salad, veggie/dip cups. I made her a fresh strawberry smash cake, fresh strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese icing and buttermilk chocolate cupcakes with chocolate cream cheese frosting. Instead of just ice cream we had a root beer float/ coke float bar to stay with the picnic theme.

We had a blast and although it was small by most people's standards it was perfect for us.
