Between the Buns

So I'm not really a big ground beef eater. Most things I replace with turkey, but every now and then I get a hankering for a delicious gourmet burger. You know the kind with bacon or an egg on top? Cue hubby's request for a blue cheese burger for dinner Sunday night. Um, yes please. I immediately turned to my old friend Pinterest. A simple search turned up thousands of recipes, but I decided to alter this one. Oh, and of course, we decided to add some bacon on top so I turned to my old friend oven cooked bacon

And the resulting burger was amazing, huge and addicting. I give you the blue cheese bacon burger!

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 lb lean hamburger meat
  • 1/3 cup blue cheese
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon prepared marinade
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • freshly ground sea salt
  • four burger buns or rolls
  • four slices of bacon, cooked
  • burger toppings
DIRECTIONS:
  • Using your hands mix the first four ingredients until well combined
  • Shape into four patties
  • Grill over medium high heat five to six minutes on each side until done to your liking (also if you are me here you hand the burgers to your hubby and say, "Get after it grill master!".
  • Toast your buns (giggle)
  • Build your burger. Mine included extra sharp cheddar cheese, more blue cheese, bacon, onion, mayo, mustard and lettuce. Scrumdidlyumptious!
ENJOY my friends, and don't say I didn't warn you because this is a huge burger that you just can't put down!

I'm linking this post up with AP for Hey That's Pintastic!
