On Potty Training

Truth be told I think Evie was probably ready to potty train* awhile ago. We've been holding off mainly because of our lake trips in the Summer. Honestly, it presented a logistical nightmare.

With the lake season behind us and Christopher in London (yes I decided to potty train our two year old by myself while my husband was in another country) I took the potty training plunge this past weekend. I decided on a modified version of the three day method. At first it was stressful; there was a lot of pee to clean up but by the end of the weekend Evie seemed to have gotten the basic concept down. We took a deep breath and sent her to daycare in her big girl "candies"** today, and I am eager to see how it is going!

I'll write a more detailed post on what we did, what worked and what didn't once we've got a few more days under our belt! Until then I am turning cartwheels over the thought of no more diapers and no more cloth diaper laundry!

In case you don't follow me on Instagram (which you should because all the cool kids do!) here is a cutie from this weekend!***

*In my house we potty train. The phrase "potty learning" is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

**Evie calls her panties "candies" and I'll be damned if I don't think it's the cutest thing ever. She also likes to pick up a pile of her (clean) panties and carry them around, hugging them and declaring in her sweet Southern drawl, "I love 'em momma! I do!".

*** You are all welcome for me not bombarding you with potty training status updates every twenty eight seconds. Very welcome.

Fall Crockpot Recipes

I've been on a HUGE crock pot cooking kick lately! I've made everything from chili to chicken gyros in my crock pot, and I am loving it! As a full time working momma I can tell you there is nothing better than walking into your house after a long day at work and being greeting my delicious smells coming from the kitchen! I truly believe that a crock pot is a working mom's savior! For that matter I would say that the crock pot is just the busy moms savior, and I think we can agree all moms are busy!

Since I've been using my crock pot so much lately I've been trolling Pinterest and Google for some new delicious options for my slow cooker! I've compiled a list of my favorites for y'all! Enjoy!
